Thanks to everyone who attended the Raingutter Regatta. We sincerely hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did. The children did a wonderful job designing, painting, and racing their boats to the finish line.

Congratulations to everyone who attended. This event is about much more than just pushing the boats to the finish line. It is about taking pride in your accomplishments. It is about coming together as a pack to enjoy being together.

A photo album of this event has been posted to the web site. Please view the photos by going to our photo gallery from the main menu or go directly to the photo album by clicking here.

Camping At Cub World

Our pack camping trip to Cub World was a great success. It was a weekend filled with adventure, excitement, and tons of fun. The scouts slept inside castles, shot footballs from a catapult, performed skits by the fire, roasted marshmallows, and much much more. It was a weekend full of games and events, hiking trips, meals by the camp fire, and fun for everyone involved. Please visit the Cub World photo gallery to share in our experiences by clicking here and thank you.

Crossover Ceremony 2009

Arrow of Light Cranston Pack 6 would like to take this time to recognize our recent Webelos II scouts who have moved on to Boy Scouts. Many of you joined us on February 23rd to congratulate Robert, Kenny, and Kevin on their transition to Boy Scouts. The Crossover ceremony is where our Webelos II scouts earn their Arrow of Light, which is the highest rank in Cub Scouting. It is also the only badge that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. During this ceremony, the graduating scouts "crossed over" the ceremonial crossover bridge signifying their transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. This is a proud moment for the scouts, their families, and the entire pack. Congratulations to each of you and enjoy your time in Boy Scouts. We hope that the time you spent here with Cranston Pack 6 was memorable for you. If you would like to enjoy some photos of the event, please click here. Thank you.

Pinewood Derby 2009 has come and gone, but the excitement will be around for quite some time. We at Cranston Pack 6 would like to take a moment for thank everyone for their participation in this great event. Thank you to all of our scouts for building their wonderful cars, to all of our parents for supporting your scouts, to all of our leadership for setting up a very fun and professional event, and to all of our volunteers for lending us their time in our snack bar. This event was a success due to everyone's participation.

Now to get on to the good stuff. Our races started off with our Webelos bringing some exciting cars to the track. There was a total of 5 Webelos cars racing in the event with car #47 taking 3rd place, car #18 taking 2nd place, and car #62 taking the 1st place  trophy. After a short break for refreshments, the race continued with our Bears taking their turn on the track. The Bears had a total of 12 cars racing with car #52 taking 3rd place, car #34 coming in at 2nd place, and car #30 taking the 1st place trophy. The Wolves were next in line with 11 cars racing in the event. The Wolves finished the day with car #11 taking 3rd place, car #27 taking 2nd place, and car #42 coming home with the 1st place trophy. The final den race of the day was for the Tigers. The Tigers raced their way to the finish line with 5 cars participating in the event. At the end of the race, car #31 came in at 3rd place, car #7 came in at 2nd place, and car #71 sped away with 1st place tropy. Congratulations to all of our scouts for taking part in the individual den races. Everyone who took part is a winner.

Once our den races were complete, we held a special pack race which featured the top 3 cars from every individual den race. This was a very exciting event featuring the fastest cars from each den. The prize for this event was special trophies for the top 3 cars at the end of the race. Congratulations to our pack winners with car #33 taking home 3rd place, car #71 securing 2nd place, and car #42 bringing home the 1st place trophy for the pack event.

Finally, we are proud to announce that our pack will be sending 8 scouts to the 2009 District Pinewood Derby. The top 2 cars from each den race will be going to the district event.
